Globe's Load to GCash Service Ended on Feb. 20, 2017

Globe's Load to GCash service was ended on Feb. 20, 2017. With GCash, Globe subscribers can instantly convert their prepaid load to GCash. For now, the ways to load your GCash is the Cash-in option through Globe Business Centers, 7-11 branches, Villarica Pawnshops and other GCash partner outlets nationwide, and mobile banking services like BPI which allows transfer of funds to GCash.

Filipino online sellers are affected to this Globe's announcement. Because, not all online shoppers have access to money transfer or money remittance services like MLhuillier Kwarta Padala, Cebuana Pera Padala, LBC Pera Padala or Palawan Express. Maybe 1 or 2 only of these money remittance services are accessible to them or maybe none to some online sellers because they live in remote areas which are very far from money remittance centers.

Globe is getting a 10% transaction fee for every prepaid load converted to GCash. The denominations available are 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, and 300 pesos respectively. Your 110 pesos load balance can be converted to 100 GCash. Globe - Load to GCash conversion daily limit is 1000 and the monthly limit is 10,000. With a transaction fee percentage of 10%, Globe receives a huge amount from this as their income. But why did Globe ended Load to GCash? ABS-CBN files lawsuit vs. KissAsian

Philippine TV Network ABS-CBN filed a lawsuit before the US Federal District Court against KissAsian.com (a streaming site of Asian shows) for damages of over $8 million on infringement of trademarks and registered copyrights of 27 television shows and movies. Some of the infringed ABS-CBN television shows that ranks in KissAsian's Top List are: On the Wings of Love, Be My Lady, Dolce Amore, We Will Survive, The Story of Us, Born for You, Till I Met You, and The Greatest Love. And, this is certainly the reason why it caught the attention of ABS-CBN and lead the network to made an action which is to file a lawsuit.

For K-Drama fans especially like me, this is a sad news because fans also watch to different streaming sites especially in KissAsian because the official K-Drama streaming sites like Viki or Dramafever implements country restrictions or requires paid subscription on some shows. But I do have a paid subscription, not to Viki or Dramafever but to Iflix because its cheaper and I can watch some K-Drama decently.

In my own opinion, ABS-CBN must take an action first on the file hosting sites embedded on KissAsian. Because it stated at KissAsian's Legal Disclaimer that "By clicking on any Links to videos while surfing on KissAsian you watch content hosted on third parties and KissAsian cant take the responsibility for any content hosted on other sites." On the otherhand, ABS-CBN may also message KissAsian about the infringement. As I read the DMCA of KissAsian.com, the company reporting copyright infringement must do several steps to takedown infringed properties which also includes messaging the designated agent-the KissAsian so that KissAsian will have time to takedown these infringed properties.

Moreover, ABS-CBN must find streaming sites that rebroadcast their shows a benefit, not in terms of money but in terms of popularity. Look, Korean Dramas are still alive on different streaming sites, thus, their actors and actresses becomes popular worldwide.

Goblin : Korean Drama Review

Brief Introduction

Goblin is a Korean Drama TV Series by tvN and is known by other names including Goblin: The Lonely and Great God / Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, starring Gong Yoo, Kim Go-eun, Lee Dong-wook, Yoo In-na, and Yook Sung-jae. Its final episode recorded an 18.68% nationwide audience share making it the second highest rated drama in Korean cable television history, behind Reply 1988. It aired on tvN every Friday and Saturday at 20:00 starting December 2, 2016 until January 21, 2017.

Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) is an immortal goblin and protector of souls. He lives with an amnesiac grim reaper (Lee Dong-wook) who is in charge of taking deceased souls. Together, they see the dead off into the afterlife. One day Kim Shin meets a girl, Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun), who has a special ability to see ghosts, and is destined to be his bride and return him to ashes. My Review (Attention : SPOILER ALERT!)

At first, I thought this drama is about dwarves just like in European folklores. But when I saw the plot, it says that goblin (dokkaebi) is immortal and protector of souls, and I think cultural differences is the reason why goblin from western country differs from Korea. As I continue reading the plot, there's a grim reaper which is compeletely opposite to goblin. A grim reaper is a life taker while a goblin is a life protector.

Alright, enough for my first impressions. I'll now discuss my brief review on Goblin. I really like the chemistry between Kim Shin (Gong Yoo), the Goblin and Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun), the Goblin's bride even though there's an age gap between them, they still managed to have a connection with one another. Especially when Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun) blows a candle which makes Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) teleports next to her. Kim Shin always prepare to look like professional by reading books, holding paintings and etc., so that when Eun-tak blows the candle she will be impressed. I always laugh so loud on these scenes. While the other lead Sunny (Yoo In-Na) and Grim Reaper's (Lee Dong-Wook) relationship was very heart wrenching. We all know that a human and a spirit can't be together. But you must watch Goblin to know the details why its more heart wrenching other than the reason that a human and a spirit can't be together. One formula of Korean drama I noticed in Goblin is the bromance. It's like a friendly fight whenever Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-Wook quarrel and I can't stop laughing. Korean dramas are really improving when it comes in mixing comedy in a drama.

When it comes to Goblin's videography, I can't say anything but WOW, it will move you especially your feelings. Thanks to Studio Dragon and Hwa and Dam Pictures for giving their full blast in making the video quality of Goblin very mesmerizing.

Overall, it's very good and I highly recommended it for your list of K-dramas to watch.

With rumored approximately 1 million dollar licensing deal, Gravity Corporation hope that the new publisher Electronics Extreme will revive the nostalgic memories of the original Ragnarok to the gamers especially Filipinos. Philippine Ragnarok Online was launched in 2003 and gained the peek of its popularity due to its balanced gameplay and active community. Even though some criticizes its character graphics like paper doll, still many Filipinos didn't find this minor criticisms as hindrance for them to enjoy the game. And I still remember also(even though I didn't play the game, I always watch my cousin playing), before you can access and play Ragnarok Online, you need some load cards to be topped up. See, Filipinos are really into the game, they are willing to pay just to play.

In March 2015, the glorious days of Philippine Ragnarok Online was ended and shuts down its server due to its declining sales. For me, the cause of this fall is the rise of mobile games, which people find more attractive and portable. But Ragnarok fans can only find the nostalgic feeling of MMORPG with Ragnarok. Amidst of the diminishing glorious days of Ragnarok, Filipinos find a way to rejuvenate Ragnarok by making or joining private servers.
